Kimura

A shoulder lock trapping the opponent's arm in a figure-four grip, applicable from many positions.

Key Points

  • •Works from side control, guard, or as a standing submission
  • •Keep their elbow trapped tight to your body throughout
  • •Rotate smoothly rather than jerking the arm

Instructions

  1. 1Control the opponent's wrist with one hand, isolating their arm.
  2. 2Reach your other arm under their elbow and grab your own wrist, forming a figure-four.
  3. 3Keep their elbow bent at 90 degrees and pinned close to their body.
  4. 4Rotate their wrist up behind their back, driving the shoulder into an unnatural angle.
  5. 5Apply steady rotational pressure until the tap, keeping your body weight controlling them.
