Clinch Elbow Strikes

Short, sharp elbow strikes delivered at extreme close range while controlling an opponent's head or arm.

Key Points

  • •Effective for opening cuts at close range
  • •Small hip rotation generates most of the power
  • •Keep your guard up between strikes

Instructions

  1. 1Secure clinch control with a collar tie or underhook.
  2. 2Create a small amount of space by pushing the opponent's head or shoulder.
  3. 3Rotate your hips and whip your elbow into the opening, striking with the point.
  4. 4Keep the strikes short and tight rather than winding up.
  5. 5Re-establish control immediately after each strike.
