Takedowns
Single Leg Takedown
A takedown securing one of the opponent's legs, versatile for finishing from multiple angles.
Key Points
- •Control the ankle or knee tightly to prevent the leg from slipping free
- •Watch for guillotine attempts as you shoot in
- •Multiple finishes exist depending on opponent reaction
Instructions
- 1Level change and shoot for one of the opponent's legs, wrapping both arms around it.
- 2Trap the leg between your arm and body, keeping your head to the outside.
- 3Step your near foot in close to control their base and prevent hopping away.
- 4Drive forward or run the pike (circling around the trapped leg) to off-balance them.
- 5Finish by tripping the standing leg or lifting to complete the takedown.
