Suplex (Belly-to-Belly)

A powerful throw lifting an opponent off their feet and arching them backward to the mat.

Key Points

  • •Hip position below the opponent's is essential to lift them
  • •Requires significant strength and timing
  • •High risk if the lift fails midway

Instructions

  1. 1Secure a tight body lock with your hips pressed against the opponent's.
  2. 2Bend your knees to lower your hips below theirs.
  3. 3Explosively extend your legs and hips, lifting them off the ground.
  4. 4Arch backward, rotating so they land on their back while you land on top or beside them.
  5. 5Maintain your grip throughout to control the landing and follow-up position.
